WELBY Holistic Healing Bendigo specialises in teaching kung fu classes to people with pre-existing injuries as well as anyone from any age group regardless of physical capacities. 

Kung fu is generally known as Chinese martial arts in modern culture. However, kung fu also means “skills one acquired with hard work over a long period of time”. Originally, to practice kung fu did not just mean to practice Chinese martial arts. Instead, it referred to the process of one’s training – the development and conditioning of the body and the mind, the learning and the perfection of one’s skills – rather than to what was being trained.

With thousands of years of history and development, it is now generally accepted that the term “kung fu” refers to the traditional Chinese martial art form and “wushu“ as the modern exhibition sport derived from traditional Chinese martial arts.

At WELBY Holistic Healing we place strong emphasis on learning kung fu forms (choreographed sequence of movements) and their martial applications. Kung fu form is an ultimate framework of all exercise giving you the strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness as well as utilising both your physical and mental ability to memorise movements.

Whether kung fu is learned as a form of exercise or as self-defense, it helps you to understand self-discipline and grow self-confidence over time.
