Bendigo Martial Arts Master inducted into International Hall of Honors

Bendigo Kung Fu and Tai Chi master, Raymond Lee, has been recognised by his international peers at the martial arts equivalent of the Academy Awards – Action Martial Arts Hall of Honors 2018 in Atlantic City, USA. He received two awards: 1) Master of the year and 2) Excellence in Teaching Martial Arts and is the first from Australasia to be inducted in the Hall of Honors.

Lee has been recognised for his outstanding achievements and support to the growth of a better martial arts community. He is the only physiotherapist who has achieved 5th Duan in Wu-shu and Tai-Chi, certified internationally by the Chinese government. He combines his clinical knowledge, supporting diversity thereby enabling everyone to be able to practice taichi or martial arts regardless of their physical capacities, with the goal of achieving wellness.

Lee has over 20 years of experience in martial arts and is known for helping people by using tai chi, qigong, yoga and kung fu as part of his clinical management. He has competed in numerous national and international competition winning more than 60 medals, awards and championships. Lee trains directly under Grandmaster Madam Kit Chan from Macau, China and is a private student of famed international action movie star Cynthia Rothrock.

In response to the award, Lee said, “These awards are dedicated to all of my students I have ever taught and my clients for giving me the privilege and opportunity to teach you and most importantly to learn from all of you. I hope I can continue in the years to come, to reach out to people in the Bendigo community, assisting them along their journey to knowledge, health and wellness while helping them gain confidence and self-assurance along the way”.

Lee is has been exclusively invited to the World Martial Arts Black Belt Hall of Fame Awards 2018 Induction in Malaysia in September.
