Part one of the four horse tail whisk 36 form workshops, each part consists of nine movements that allows you to enjoy the routine as a short form or to combine them into 18, 27 and ultimately 36 movements form.
This workshop allows you to learn and understand your yin (internal) and yang (external) strength and ultimately find your balance through the exercise/ martial arts routine. This selected routine is versatile and can be adapted into kung-fu, tai-chi or even a dance routine depends on your particular style and suitable for all levels and capacities.
We will train in small group and guarantee individualised instruction and supervision through out the workshop.
Horse tail whisk is a traditional “unorthodox weapon” that was originally a fly whisk used by Taoist priests or Buddist monks to whisk off insects without killing them. Also it represents spiritual cleansing and reminds of the priests that any sinful thoughts can be whisk away like insects buzzing around them and symbolises both compassion and spiritual strength.
As a martial arts weapon it truly combines the yin (horse tail) and yang (the hard handle) and renowned for its pressure points striking techniques as well as snatching, entangling your opponents’ weapons or limbs to counter attack.
* Many modern whisks are made of synthetic fibres and animal lovers friendly.
* We will only learn the routine from a physical point of view without any religious components attached to it.
